The National Road Safety Alliance (NRSA) is a non-profit, multi-sectoral organization committed to promoting road safety, behavioral change, inclusive mobility, and sustainable transport systems across the Philippines. As a newly registered SEC organization, we are building a dynamic leadership team to shape high-impact programs and governance.
The Projects Director will serve as a voting member of the Board of Trustees and will play a leadership role in overseeing the design, implementation, and strategic alignment of NRSA’s programs and initiatives. This trustee role ensures that the organization’s work is evidence-based, impactful, and mission-aligned.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in quarterly and special Board meetings as a Trustee.
- Lead and supervise the strategic implementation of NRSA programs and flagship initiatives.
- Oversee project teams or committees under Programs & Implementation.
- Align project objectives with NRSA’s national road safety strategy.
- Recommend project priorities, budgets, and partnerships to the Board.
- Provide oversight on timelines, impact metrics, and reporting.
- Serve as the liaison between the Board and assigned committees or Program Officers.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership in nonprofit program/project development, preferably in road safety, public health, community engagement, or social innovation.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in program or project management.
- Strong strategic thinking, planning, and evaluation skills.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including LGUs, NGOs, donors, and grassroots communities.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn about transport safety and behavioral interventions.
- Commitment to NRSA’s mission and ethical governance standards.
Preferred (but not required)
- Background in urban planning, transport, public health, education, or advocacy.
- Prior experience as a Board Member or Committee Chair.
- Experience working with Persons with Disabilities (PWD), youth, or senior citizens.
Fundraising Culture
At NRSA, every Board Member is expected to contribute to the financial health of the organization. We follow the principle of “Give, Get, or Get Off”, which reflects our values of shared responsibility and sustainability:
- Give: You may choose to make a voluntary personal donation.
- Get: You may help raise funds, build partnerships, or bring in other resources.
- Get Off: You may step down if unable to support in either way.
Terms and Expectations
- 1-2 year term as an active Board Trustee (renewable).
- Attend at least 75% of all Board and committee meetings (virtual/hybrid).
- Provide strategic guidance on at least one flagship program annually.
- Willingness to participate in fundraising, representation, and coalition-building efforts.
- Volunteer position (with honorarium or project-based compensation negotiable based on internal policy and subject to NRSA’s financial capacity).

- Attending out-of-town events and conferences
- Leading or representing NRSA in official capacities
As NRSA expands through partnerships and funding, honoraria or performance-based incentives for key volunteer leaders will be considered, subject to financial sustainability and Board review.
